About the Creator…

Passionately, I have explored diverse aspects of education since graduating from college and taking an unexpected job teaching kids gymnastics. My passion for healthy child development, drives my work.

As a Teach For America Corp member, I worked for three years as a teacher at Jackson Elementary school (a rural Title I school in rural Louisiana). I was inspired by the opportunity to be a teacher and advocate for my students, and learned how to be teach creatively with limited resources.

I left the classroom to pursue a M.S.Ed. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Development at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. As a graduate student, I lead qualitative research projects investigating ways to strengthen preschool expansion in Ghana, which was presented to and utilized by the World Bank’s Global Impact Fund. I also focused on ways education can build resilience in children.

After graduating, I worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a Home Visitor. Translating my knowledge of child development to parents. While coaching parents on child development skills, I witnessed the power of thoughtful and creative play can have to transform lives.

As the pandemic changed the reality of education in unexpected ways, I took this opportunity to nurture my educational creativity; Cherries School.

I am excited to continue my career in education, and hope to bring joyful, creative, and development centered focused perspectives to education.
